The selection process has two stages. The first stage is a written examination, and the second is an Interview.

Those appointed to the post of Chief in Kerala State Planning Board shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. The probation period for the Chief of State Planning Board is two years.

2. Educational Requirement Of a Chief of State Planning Board

   A Chief is the head of a technical division of the State Planning Board. It is a senior post, and the PSC expects only highly qualified candidates. If you have the following educational qualifications, you can apply.

   • Doctorate in Economics or Statistics of a recognized University or Institution and four years experience in Economics or Statistical Work (Theoretical or Applied) either in Government Institutions, recognized Universities or other recognized Institutions

   • OR

   • A Second Class Masters Degree in Economics or statistics of a recognized University or Institution and seven years experience in Economics or Statistical work (Theoretical or Applied) either in Government departments or recognized Universities or other recognized institutions

   • OR

   • A Second Class Masters Degree in Mathematics or Commerce of a recognized University or Institution and seven years experience in Economics or Statistical work (Theoretical or Applied) either in Government departments or recognized Universities or other recognized Institutions.
