Kerala Police Sub Inspector Recruitment Examination

Last Updated:-Saturday, August 31, 2024

Police Sub Inspector is one of the most glamorous posts in Kerala Government Service. If you are one of the aspirants, now is the time to apply.

PSC has announced that it will recruit a new batch of Sub Inspectors to the Kerala Civil Police Department. According to the new Sub Inspector Exam Notification, both men and women candidates can apply.

In this post, I will explain the Kerala Police Sub Inspector recruitment process, mode of examination, number of available vacancies, exam cut-off mark, minimum educational and physical requirements, and the number of appointments from the previous rank list.

You can check the active Kerala Police Sub Inspector exam notification numbers from this table.

Notification Number Category Department
572/2023 Open Market Kerala Civil Police
573/2023 From Ministerial staff Kerala Civil Police
574/2023 Constabulary Kerala Civil Police
575/2023 Open Market Armed Police Battalion
576/2023 Constabulary Armed Police Battalion

One question we hear from our SI training batch at GJR Institute is the differences between a Civil Police Sub Inspector and an Armed Police Sub Inspector.

The primary difference is the department to which PSC appoints the selected candidates. The Public Service Commission sends the Armed Sub Inspectors to the Armed Police Battalion. They serve various armed police battalions in Kerala. A Civil Sub Inspector will go to station works.

Kerala Police Sub Inspector Recruitment Procedure

Let me explain the SI recruitment process in detail. In Kerala, you must go through four stages to become a Police Sub Inspector. This chart will give you a complete idea of the Kerala Police Sub Inspector Selection Process.

4 Interview

The written test includes two stages. They are the Common Graduate Level Prelims and Sub Inspector Main Examinations.

After the written examinations, the next stage of the Kerala Police Sub Inspector selection is a Physical Efficiency Test. The final stage is an interview.
