How To Become a Kerala Forest Department Driver?
To become a Driver in the Kerala Forest Department, you must pass the PSC examination to fill the reported vacancies. Many students asked me who could apply for this post. Let me answer that.
The PSC notification has clear guidelines about who can apply for the examination. According to the gazette notification, Women and Differently Abled candidates are not eligible to apply for the post of forest driver.
The age limit of general category candidates to apply for forest driver vacancy is 23 to 36 years. If you belong to OBC or SC/ST, check the table to see the age relaxation to apply.

The Monthly Salary Of a Kerala Forest Department Driver
The monthly salary of a forest driver in Kerala is 26,500-60700 Indian Rupees. It is the Basic Pay, and a forest driver will receive DA, TA, Uniform Allowance, and HRA extra.

Districtwise Forest Driver Vacancy
Students from my class asked me about the number of reported vacancies. The Forest Department reported 2 vacancies from Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram, and Kottayam districts and 8 from Thrissur. One vacancy from the Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad, and Kasargod districts.
PSC Rules On Driving Experience
I contacted the PSC helpline to learn more about the rules regarding the driving experience for candidates applying for the driver vacancies in the Kerala Forest Department. The rules are:
Applicant must have a minimum of three years of driving experience.
Applicant must have a driving license for LMV, HGMV & HPMV.
The driving license must remain valid through all the stages of the selection process.
Kerala PSC will conduct a driving test for all applicants before selecting.

Driving Proficiency Test
After the successful completion of all stages of the selection process, the Kerala PSC will appoint the candidates to the Forest Driver post.
Kerala Forest Driver Physical Efficiency Test
The candidate must pass five physical items from the table.
