1. The Age Limit to Apply For Kerala Civil Police Officer

   The age limit to apply for Civil Police Officer in Kerala for general category candidates is 18 - 26 years. Upper age limit relaxation is allowed for OBC and SC/ST communities. You can check the age relaxation in the table below.

2. Police Constable Minimum Educational Eligibility

   The minimum educational qualification to apply for Civil Police Officer is a pass in HSE or equivalent.

3. Minimum Physical Qualifications

   1. The Required Physical Qualifications for a Male Civil Police Officer

      A male candidate must have a minimum of 168 cm height and 81 cm chest. The minimum chest expansion is 5 cm.

   2. The Minimum Physical Qualifications for a Woman Civil Police Officer

      The minimum required height for a woman Police Constable is 157 cm.

The basic pay of a Civil Police Officer in Kerala is 31,100-66,800 Indian Rupees. In addition to the basic pay, a Civil Police Officer receives risk allowance, uniform allowance, HRA, DA, TA, and medical allowance.

The Public Service Commission selects eligible candidates for the post of Civil Police Officer in a two-stage selection process. The first stage is a written examination, and the second is a physical efficiency test.

1. Kerala PSC Civil Police Officer Written Examination

   The Public Service Commission conducts a Plus Two Level OMR test and creates a short list based on the cut-off mark. Candidates will get 75 minutes to answer 100 objective-type questions. PSC will publish a short list based on the written test mark.

2. Kerala PSC Civil Police Officer Physical Efficiency Test

   The Public Service Commission conducts two different physical efficiency tests for women and men candidates. I will explain the test pattern and items soon.

The Public Service Commission generates a short list of female candidates to appear for the physical fitness test based on the written exam cut-off mark. To be included in the Women Police Constable rank list, she must pass five out of eight items from the table below.

The second stage of the Kerala Civil Police Officer selection process is a physical fitness test. The shortlisted candidates must pass any five items from the eight physical items from the table below.

So, how will you know if your name is on the shortlist for the physical fitness test? You should check your PSC profile frequently, and it is your responsibility to find out the physical efficiency test date and center.

The PSC will prepare a final rank list of candidates who passed the physical efficiency test. The criteria to announce the rank are the written examination mark and other bonus marks (NCC, Student Police, etc).

Kerala Police Constable Bond	Every person selected for appointment have to undergo pre-service training, shall execute a security bond in the form appended to the rules binding himself to serve the State Government.
Police Constable Trainee Monthly Stipend	During the period of training the selected candidates shall be paid stipend equal to the minimum of the scale of pay of Police Constable (Tele Communication). The period of training shall not be counted for probation or increment.
Civil Police Officer Training	The persons appointed shall undergo pre-service training for a period of nine months in the Police Training College/Kerala Police Academy or in any such other institutions as may be decided by the Government or the State Police Chief.
Probation Period	Every person appointed shall on completion of training be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
